Hiring top tier accounting talent
I know CFO's earning $30K (
stop laughing, it is true)
and I know CFO's earning over $500K. I'm not always sure the guy
earning $500K is worth it. The guy earning $30K is usually being
paid all he is worth.
So how do you find top accounting talent? You find the best people who
are actively engaged in
doing exactly what you need done.
If you look at crossover talent, you make sure the person has a record
of exceptional achievement and covets going where you want him to go.
Don't go shopping in the discount bin. I have
been finding exceptional talent in accounting. The good
accountants know how to tell if they are being paid near where they
ought to be.
